Career Link Family has come a long way and is poised to face the challenges of the Millennium. The Organization will continue to place premium on human resource development. As a matter of policy, only qualified and experienced people are employed in the organization and such are being encouraged to attend course, workshops and seminars in order to improve their skills and efficiency both within and outside the organization. Our members radiate light and confidence wherever they are. They are easily spotted. This goes in line with our motto, which says "...linking youths to the real world". In the beginning, God created the Heavens and the Earth; the Earth was without form and void, even though the spirit of the Lord moved upon the waters. Then in the dramatic sequence of creation, He applied the creative word, saying "Let there be light and there was light" Every other episode of creation was to follow in tow, but in the glare of the illumination properly so-called The Light. Things began to take shape as against the initial formless void, only after the light has shone. Being a trained and practicing servicing has given me a tremendous fulfillment being privileged to be a part of God’s creative process, particularly in the area of molding and nurturing soul-plant that are destined to be shapes of humanity’s future. Career Link Family is a technological company that has it in focus to pervade the land with knowledge, replenish and in which businesses could draw God’s planet. We are proud of the Career Link tradition built over the years, as our member remains outstanding in behavior and performance. We hear good reports about ex-members every now and then. We assure you that we shall not rest on our oars. The objective of this book, therefore, is to reach out, through a print medium, to the wider world about the world of Career Link Group. It is also a modest way of recording the histories of the Group as well as the members that pass through it. As we enter into 21st Century, it is my dream that the member for whom this is put together would, in the future, look back at the Group they came from, with the resolve that they cannot afford to fail themselves, their image and their membership, keeping in view that they should remember the products of whom they are. Surely, from the quietness of the heart the light will shine.

We have and will continue to produce future leaders who have been groomed physically, mentally and socially in a decent service and educational environment. Academically we have continued to excel. Even as we enter the new millennium, we are poised to achieve ever greater heights face to face and on internet. There is no stopping. The idea of doing a year book is to express in tangible terms those ideals we cherish and which we wish to impact on our members. This all-encompassing supremacy of Nigeria alone can give Career Link a chance to fully enjoy the spiritual, moral, and material benefits, which are the natural and inevitable results of working according to the guidance of the Career Link. You should posses the proper understanding. You should be able to conclude from all the evidence around you that none but God alone is your creator and your Lord; no one but He can sustain you, hear prayers and help you. You should be able to recognize the revelation and message that has come from Him, you should also be able to distinguish between a true believer and a false claimant to brotherhood and between their morals, dealing teachings and achievements. You should also be able to discern true guidance from the false. Only if you pass this test, will God include you in His party. If not you will be left to your own devices.

JUVENILE DELINQUENCY


Juvenile delinquency involves criminal behavior among under aged and adolescent children. In many countries of the world children below the age of 18years are regarded as adolescents. When an adolescent commits an offence that can be considered a crime, he/she is not jailed as the adults are because he/she is under age and may not fully responsible for his/her actions; usually he/she is sent to a remand home which is a special institution with programs to rehabilitate, reform and train delinquent children.

A delinquent child might have been influenced by a lot of factors which may include the following; music, peer group, environment, behavior of the parents and others people, both young and old. It has been found that the United State of America has the highest rate of juvenile delinquency in the world with 80% of them being boys. it is generally believed that the rate of juvenile delinquency worldwide is on the increase.

In a home where the parents do not know how to express love to the child or where they reprimand the child for every little thing, the child react negatively by engaging in unruly behavior in a bid to get back on the parents. Children should be blamed and punished for wrong doing but sanctions should not be such that can scar a child for life. Parents should therefore not be too harsh or too lenient on their children so that they may not be inadvertently breeding the criminals of the future. Parents should remember that after sometime, they may not be around and if the world is full of criminals, it would not be a beautiful place to live in. Parents, teachers and guardians, take note and strive to influence your children and words positively so that they can become responsible, hardworking and discipline adults.

CAREER LINK STUDENT WITH HIGH MORALS

Morals are the habits and principles of maintaining right or wrong behavior. Morals are very important in most secondary schools. Teachers should inculcate good morals in students, who are the leaders of tomorrow. A student most have very good morals. He/she must be respectful, honest, punctual, attentive, co-operative, neat, obedient and generally well-behaved. Punctuality is the arrival at some place or doing of something at the appropriate time. Punctuality is a sign of respect. When a student is punctual, he/she respects his/her teacher, parent and others members of the society. Respect involves showing admiration to your elders, leaders and even your mates.

If as student respect his teacher, the student will also be respected. This quality can contribute in the decision to make such a student one of the prefects of the school. Honesty is truthfulness; a student is honest when he/she is known to tell the truth. The student will be trusted and be depended onto perform to the best of his/her ability in all situations A lie is a statement that the speaker knows to be untrue. lying is a sin that leads to punishment. Neatness is the tidy appearance of someone or something.

A student is neat when every item of his/her clothing and shoes are in the right condition. A students appearance is a reflection of how organized and responsible the student is. obedience is very important. If a student is not obedient, he/she is generally badly behaved. Sound advice from an elderly or responsible person will very often lead someone to the right quarters. If a student is intelligent but not obedient he/she wouldn’t do too well, because he/she would be getting into a lot of trouble.

Good grades alone without cordial relationship with teachers and students alike will not lead a student very far. Co-operation is another moral responsibility, a student should cultivate. It is the collective running of either a classroom, school or some other project as a team by everyone doing his/her specific duty diligently. Generally, a student must be prayerful in order to be of a high moral standard. This will definitely lead him/she to achieve his/her academic and other goals easily.

The state of the environment at the outset of the twenty-first century is no more promising now than it was a decade ago. The proliferation of private enterprise and neoliberal practices, combined with rapid integration of global processes, have reduced the potential impact of international accords and protocols on the environment and sustainable development to meagre symbols of complacency and indifference. Major environmental issues have become muddled in international bargaining processes, with hardly any direct focus or financial resources devoted to their alleviation.

A way in which governments and peoples have been pushing for more concerned treatment of the environment has been by raising awareness surrounding biodiversity and the importance of recognizing different species of flora and fauna and their relationship to the environment. Why is biodiversity important? Why should young people be concerned with this specific environmental issue?
A diverse ecosystem is important because it boosts ecosystem productivity where each species have an important role to play. It is the combination that enables the ecosystem to possess the ability to prevent and recover from a variety of disasters. In addition, biodiversity ensures resources for socioeconomic improvements in areas such as food, medicinal resources and pharmaceutical drugs, wood products, breeding stocks / genetic diversity, and climate stability. All this is accomplished without any human investment and as we erode biodiversity we erode its benefits. Many people believe that we should preserve nature for its beauty alone, which is not a logically justifiable basis. It is more logically sound to do so because of its benefits to mankind.
Another issue pertaining to the environment and its conservation is the issue of renewable and non-renewable resources. Society must make better use of its resources in order to achieve a level of sustainability. The use of oil gas and coil as a fuel for generating electricity is becoming more expensive every year. Reserves are running low and new usable fields and seams are becoming far harder to find and to harvest as can be seen with Bush’s plan to drill for new reserves in Alaska. In more practical terms, there is enough energy delivered from the sun in one hour to supply the earth’s energy requirements for the day. In addition, energy wasted in the industrialized world is enough to supply the developing nations with their energy requirements and still have a surplus.
Policy makers refuse to see the issue of non-renewable resources as a burden which they are leaving for future generations to address. This is a notion that induces heated debate but little action. The idea of leaving a deteriorated earth to future generations is deplorable and its alternative requires innovation from all facets of development (economics, politics, science, and sociology) in order to make it a reality. Hence, the issue of renewable energy is a concern for young people because we are a future generation and we are the future innovators.
Another major concern plaguing us today is that of Greenhouse gases and Global Warming. The Greenhouse effect, a phenomenon whereby the earth's atmosphere traps solar radiation, caused by the presence in the atmosphere of gases such as carbon dioxide, water vapour, and methane that allows incoming sunlight to pass through but absorb heat radiated back from the earth's surface, has been caused greatly by the developed world.
If one asks a person who resides in cold climate region what they though about global warming, many would answer that they enjoyed the warmer weather as a nice change from the frigid weather they are accustomed to. Who wouldn’t want to be able to walk around in t-shirts and jeans in the dead of winter? However, Scientists and those in Academia do not know exactly what would happen if the global temperature continues to rise. The consensus among them seems to indicate that large-scale climate changes are in store for the earth if the temperature continues to rise. The global mean temperature has risen by one degree Fahrenheit in the last century. If that seems insignificant, the global mean temperature dropped by 9 -12 degrees Fahrenheit induced the ice age. In addition to global climate change, Global warming will have large-scale economic impacts. Among them are expensive clean up operations in the wake of the increase in number, frequency, and intensity of natural disasters. We must remember that the costs of acting are bearable. The risks of not acting are unbearable.
